Young entrepreneurs are encountering significant challenges and setbacks, particularly in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis. This has led to frustrations and a notable rate of project abandonment. In this context, participants in our project have pinpointed key factors contributing to the lack of success in entrepreneurial ventures:
Feeling Unsure: Lack of confidence and people skills hold them back.
Money Matters: Entrepreneurs don't know about funding options, and pitching ideas is tough.
Projects That Don't Last: Without good tools and plans, projects often don't go far.
Leading Teams: Newbie leaders lack management skills for handling teams.
Steady Income Worries: Not having a regular income makes them lose interest.
Decisions: Making important choices is a challenge.
Making a Difference: Entrepreneurs need to use their skills for positive impact.
We've noticed that young people in our group don't feel confident or knowledgeable enough to start projects. We want to change that and get them more excited about creating and leading projects.
With this project, our goal was to make it easier for young people to overcome the challenges they face when starting and carrying out their projects. We also wanted to boost European entrepreneurship, which is really important for Europe's economy to grow.
We chose the Dragon Dreaming method because it's an innovative way to gather smart ideas and ways of thinking. It gives us all sorts of handy and useful tools, plus activities to help us be more creative, work together better, set clear goals, figure out how to start things, and spot where we might need help. All of this is super useful for creating projects that are open to everyone and really mean something.
This method is like a big toolkit that shows individuals and groups how to turn their dreams into real projects that actually work and stick around. It's even good for getting young people who might not be very excited or might feel left out involved, and it can make their job opportunities better too.
Project’s specific objectives were:
1. To discover and be educated about an innovative method to plan sustainable and creative projects, in a collaborative way.
2. To learn innovative mechanisms and tools that motivate youngsters (specially those at disadvantage) to have an active participation and improve their employability.
The Dragon Dreaming experts shared diverse theories, tips, and strategies to enhance the impact of our daily youth engagement efforts. These hands-on tools provided practical experience to our youth workers and trainers during the course, enabling them to effectively apply them when engaging with young people directly.
